Premier League champions Leicester City Leicester City have signed Nampalys Mendy from French side Nice.
Nampalys, 24, has agreed terms on a four-year contract and will become Leicester City’s third signing of the summer the club confirmed on their website.
Mendy told the club’s official website that he was happy to join Leicester who made history by winning the Premier League title for the first time last season.
He said: “I am very happy to come to Leicester City. The team have just enjoyed a great season and it’s excellent to be here. For me I want to play at this level. I like the Premier League and I follow every match. It’s fast and physical and I want to impose myself on the league.’’
Mendy last season helped guide Nice to an impressive fourth-place finish in Ligue 1 as he played in all the matches.
Apart from Mendy, Leicester have also signed Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa from CSKA Moscow according to the BBC.
In other transfer news, Manchester City have signed Oleksandr Zinchenk from FC Ufa.
The Ukrainian midfielder played for his country at the on-going Euro 2016 featuring in all three matches before his side was edged out.
And Atletico Madrid striker Fernando Torres has signed a new contract agreeing to stay at the Spanish side for yet another season.
