Southampton face improving Norwich

Southampton will battle off with Norwich City in an English Premier League match at St Mary’s Stadium on Wednesday.

The Saints defeated Watford 2-1 at home in their previous league game which was played on November 30.

As a result, Southampton are undefeated in their last two games in the league having recorded one draw and one win.

The win over Watford ended Southampton’s six-match winless run at home having recorded five defeats and one draw.

James Ward-Prowse, the Southampton midfielder, says it was important for the Saints to secure a win over Watford ahead of their clash with Norwich.

“Massive win. I think this period in the season is pivotal for us,” Ward-Prowse said.

“It started last week with an important point away at Arsenal and we knew we could follow it up today.”

Meanwhile, Norwich were held to a 2-2 draw by Arsenal at home in their previous league game which was played on December 01.

As a result, the Canaries are undefeated in their last two games in the league having registered one draw and one victory.

They ended their seven-match winless run on the road in the league when they defeated Everton in their last away game.

The Canaries will be hoping to extend their unbeaten run on the road when they take on an improving Southampton side.

The last league meeting between Southampton and Norwich was on the 2nd of January 2016.

Norwich secured a 1-0 win over Southampton at Carrow Road.
