Liverpool seek redemption against Napoli

Liverpool FC will battle with SCC Napoli in a Group E match at the Anfield Stadium in England on Wednesday.

The English giants secured a 2-1 win over Belgian champions Genk at home in their previous group encounter which was played on November 05.

They are now undefeated in their last three group matches having defeated Genk (twice) and Austrian champions RB Salzburg.

Liverpool are currently placed at the top of the group standings having collected nine points from four matches.

Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool manager, says their last two games against Napoli and Salzburg will be tricky as they look to reach the Round of 16.

“We have to play two tough games, two important ones. In each of them we can decide it with a win,” Klopp said.

“But that sounds easier than it is because both games will be really tricky.”

Meanwhile, Napoli were held to a 1-1 draw by Salzburg at home in their previous group game which was played on November 05.

The Italian side is enjoying a four-match unbeaten run in the group stage having registered two draws and two victories.

They are placed second on the group standings having accumulated eight points from four matches.

The last Champions League meeting between Liverpool and Napoli was on the 17th of September 2019.

Napoli brushed aside Liverpool 2-0 at the Stadio San Paolo.
