Liverpool face Man City in top of the log clash

Liverpool FC will face Manchester City in a massive English Premier League match at the Anfield Stadium on Sunday.

Liverpool secured a 2-1 win over Aston Villa away in their previous league game which was played on Saturday, November 2.

Liverpool striker Divock Origi says it was important for them to record a win against Belgium’s Genk in midweek ahead of their clash with City.

“Definitely it is good to keep on going, keep the flow going and I think this weekend is going to be a big game,” Origi said.

“We have already played a couple of times against each other so we are all looking forward to it.”

Meanwhile, City defeated Southampton 2-1 in their previous league game which was played on Saturday, November 2.

The Citizens are now unbeaten in their last three league matches having recorded three successive wins over Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Southampton.

They are also unbeaten in their last two away games in the league having registered two consecutive victories over Everton and Palace.

The last meeting between Liverpool and City was on the 3rd of January 2019.

City emerged 2-1 winners in a match which was played at the Etihad Stadium.
