BPL: Week 35 preview

Manchester City VS Stoke

City who face Stoke on Saturday needs to collect ten points out of a possible 12 in the remaining four matches to be sure of a place in Europe next season.

City’s noisy neighbours Manchester United will be involved in FA Cup action this weekend when they take on Everton at Wembley Stadium on Saturday and with this gives them an opportunity to build a five point lead on the Red Devils.

City’s charge to third place was momentarily slowed down on Tuesday after being held to a 1-1 tie by Newcastle United.

City cannot afford to make the same mistake against Stoke and must go all out for maximum points.

Midfielder, Samir Nasri who missed Tuesday’s match with a muscle injury remains doubtful though Raheem Sterling is expected to make it back to the starting line-up.

Stoke have been relatively successful against City in the past and this could inspire them to victory.

The Potters beat City at home last season. It was the first time ever and it could count on Saturday.

Liverpool VS Newcastle

The battle against relegation goes to Anfield where Newcastle will be hoping to beat an inspired Liverpool side and with it increase their chances of remaining at the top next season.

The Magpies may feel more confident after holding City on Tuesday but the Reds are even more inspired after thrashing Everton 4-0.

Relegated Aston Villa play Southampton hoping to bow out with some dignity. The team confirmed their relegation after going down 1-0 to Manchester United.
