2019/20 English Premier League

Saturday, 12 December 2019
Kick-off is at 17h00 CAT

Chelsea will square off with AFC Bournemouth in an English Premier League match at the Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The Blues were beaten 3-1 by Everton away in their previous league game which was played on December 7.

It was Chelsea’s third defeat in their last four league matches having won the other game which was against Aston Villa.

They won their last home league match which was against Villa after West Ham United had ended their three-match unbeaten run at the Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard says their defeat to Everton was a wake-up call for his charges.

“Work. We had it nice, we were winning games but this is the Premier League and we went to City and played pretty well and lost the game,” Lampard said.”But the two defeats since then are signs of where we need to get better, because we played two teams that have been having a tough time and we have allowed the games to go away from us for different reasons, and they are big lessons for us.”

Meanwhile, Bournemouth were beaten 3-0 by Liverpool FC at home in their previous league game which was played on December 7.

The defeat extended the Cherries’ winless run to five matches in the league having registered five consecutive defeats.

They are also winless in their last five away league matches having recorded four defeats and one draw on the road.

The last league meeting between Chelsea and Bournemouth was on the 30th of January 2019.

The Cherries beat the Blues 4-0 in a match which was played at the Vitality Stadium.
