Juventus FC will be eyeing an away victory over FC Porto in a UEFA Champions League Round of 16 first-leg game on February 17.

The Italian champions are hoping to advance to the quarter-finals for the first time since the 2018/19 season.

The Old Lady were stunned by French giants Olympique Lyonnais in last season’s Round of 16 as they lost on the away goals rule following a 2-2 draw.

Juventus will be keen to go all the way and lift their third Champions League trophy this season.

Meanwhile, Porto are also looking to progress to the quarter-finals for the first time since the 2018/19 campaign.

The Portuguese champions were eliminated in the preliminary by Russian side Krasnodar, who won on the away goals rule following a 3-3 draw last season.

They are hoping to stun a much-fancied Juventus side as they chase their third Champions League title.

Sergio Conceicao, the Porto manager, is confident that they can cause an upset against a Juventus side, whose attack is led by Cristiano Ronaldo.

“We have time to talk about it, but if we want to be among the best we have to compete with the best,” Conceicao said.

“I read a study that was done on the value of the different squads that are in the round of 16 of the Champions League and we are the team with less value in the market.

“But that doesn’t enter the field. We are a club with history. History doesn’t enter the field, it’s the players, but we will do everything to dignify the club.”

The last competitive match between Porto and Juventus was on 14 March 2017.

Juventus secured a narrow 1-0 win over Porto in a Champions League game which was played at the Allianz Stadium.
