The Community Shield marks the start of the EPL season and this year we were left wondering if it will also mark out how things are going to look this season. Last season Liverpool finished the season 1 point behind winners Manchester City. This year at the Community Shield Liverpool lost out to Manchester City by one missed penalty. This leaves us to wonder if the battle for top spot will continue between these two clubs this year.
Man City took an early lead thanks to a goal from Raheem Sterling. Liverpool was sluggish in the first half and lacked attack. However, the team in red found their style and momentum, and after two balls bounced off the post, Joel Matip managed to equalize. Liverpool carried on their attack, leaving Man City a little spooked while Pep was sighted for throwing a tantrum on the sideline.
