Leicester, Man City continue battle for second spot

Leicester City will take on Manchester City in an English Premier League match at the King Power Stadium on Saturday.

This will be the 18th Premier League meeting between Leicester and Manchester.

Manchester have dominated winning nine matches compared to Leicester’s six victories, while two games ended in a draw.

The Citizens also won the last meeting between the two teams on the 21st of December 2019.

They secured a 3-1 victory over Leicester in a match which was played at the Etihad Stadium.

Brendan Rodgers, the Leicester manager, has lauded his charges ahead of their clash with Manchester.

“Our focus is just to try and finish as high as we can. These players have been amazing,” Rodgers said.

“Up until now, at this point, with 12 games to go and where they sit, they’ve done absolutely brilliant.

“We’ve got a lot of work to do. There’s still 36 points to play for, so we’ve got to keep pushing and working. It sets us up now for the remainder of the season.”

Leicester are hoping to go all the way and clinch a second spot finish in the Premier League with Liverpool FC running away with the title.

The Foxes will look to Jamie Vardy, who is in the race for this season’s Premier League Golden Boot.

On the other hand, City are keen to mount a serious challenge for the league title and win it for the third year running.

Kevin De Bruyne, who has arguably been Manchester’s best player this year, will be looking to inspire the Citizens to a win in Leicester.
