Chelsea take aim at Spurs in London Derby

Chelsea will face off with Tottenham Hotspur in an English Premier League match at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Blues are coming off a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United in their previous league game which was played on February 17.

The defeat extended Chelsea’s winless run to four matches in the league having recorded two draws and two defeats.

They are also winless their last two home matches in the league having registered a defeat and a draw at the Stamford Bridge.

Frank Lampard, the Chelsea manager, is concerned with the Blues’ scoring problem ahead of their clash with Tottenham.

“It’s a reality that’s getting clearer all the time. We’re not getting enough goals from striker areas, we’re not getting enough goals from wide areas,” Lampard said.

“Not many teams can keep clean sheets week in, week out. You have to score goals to give you a feeling of superiority in the game.

“We make a lot of chances, as many as any team in the league barring Liverpool, and we’re not finishing them.”

Meanwhile, Tottenham secured a 3-2 win over Aston Villa away in their previous league game which was played on February 16.

The win extended Spurs’ unbeaten run to four matches in the league having registered three wins and one draw.

They are also unbeaten in their last two away matches in the league having recorded a draw and a win on the road.

The last league meeting between Chelsea and Tottenham was on the 22nd of December 2019.

The Blues beat Spurs 2-0 in a match which was played at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
