England will square off with Wales in an international friendly match at the Wembley Stadium on October 08.
The Three Lions were held to a 0-0 draw by Denmark in their previous game which was the 2020/21 UEFA Nations League match in September 2020.
The draw extended England’s unbeaten run to five matches across all competitions having registered one draw and four wins.
Their last defeat came in October 2019 when they suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Czech Republic in the 2021 UEFA European Championship qualifier.
Meanwhile, Wales secured a 1-0 win over Bulgaria in their previous match which was the 2020/21 UEFA Nations League game in September 2020.
The win extended the Dragons’ unbeaten run to eight matches across all competitions having recorded two draws and six wins.
Their last defeat came against Hungary in June 2019 as they succumbed to a 1-0 loss in the 2021 UEFA European Championship qualifier.
Ryan Giggs, the Wales coach, has revealed what helped set-up the friendly against their British rivals, England.
“I did a thing with Gareth [Southgate] for BT and I just mentioned a friendly game then,” Giggs told PA news agency.
“He was up for it because he thought it would be a good test for them as well as for us.
“It was an easy game to get organised and we’ve both got two Nations League games after that, so it will stand us in good stead.”
The last meeting between England and Wales was on 16 June 2016.
The Three Lions ran out 2-1 winners over the Dragons in the 2016 UEFA European Championship match which was played at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis.
