Our Uefa Champions League quarter final focus on Wednesday night is firmly on Paris where PSG host Barcelona.
These two teams are no strangers to each other having met in the group stage this season and also in the quarter finals of the 2012/13 competition. Barcelona topped the group ahead of PSG this time around but there was very little in it with PSG winning the meeting in Paris and Barca taking revenge in Spain. The quarter final match up in 2013 saw both legs finish all square and Barcelona squeezed through on the away goals rule.

PSG were terrific in the Round of 16, drawing the first leg of their clash with Chelsea 1-1 in Paris before a 2-2 draw (after extra time) at Stamford Bridge saw them through on the away goals rule. PSG had Ibrahimovic sent off after 30 minutes in the second leg in London and came back to equalize twice to upset one of the favourites. Domestically they have also made it to the top of the Ligue 1 standings and PSG have not tasted defeat in Paris in any competitive match this season.

Barcelona are going well right now and they won both legs of their Round of 16 meeting with Manchester City to go through 3-1 on aggregate. The margin of Barca’s victory over City would have been far greater but for the heroics of goalkeeper Joe Hart but the goals have generally been flowing for Barca and on recent evidence they look stronger than the side which lost to Atletico Madrid in the quarter finals of last season’s Champions League competition.
