Man City look to brush aside West Ham

Manchester City will look to start the new 2019/20 English Premier League season with a victory over West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday.

The Citizens are looking to defend their league title which they clinched after defeating Brighton and Hove Albion at the end of the 2018/19 season.

They are undefeated in their 14 league matches in the competition since losing to Newcastle United in January 2019.

City are also undefeated in their last seven away matches which they have won under Pep Guardiola.

The Spanish manager will be looking to mastermind a victory over West Ham in their first game of the 2019/20 campaign.

Meanwhile, West Ham are targeting a top-eight finish after ending the 2018/19 season on 10th spot in the league after defeating Watford FC at the end of the campaign.

The Hammers are undefeated in their last four league matches in the competition since losing to Manchester United in April 2019.

They are also undefeated in their last two home matches under former Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini.

The Chilean tactician will be hoping to ensure that his side starts the new season with a victory.

The last meeting between West Ham and City in a league game was on the 27th of February 2019.

City overcame West Ham 1-0 at the Etihad Stadium.
