Chelsea-VS-Everton

Chelsea to give Everton the blues?

Chelsea will look to continue their impressive form in the Premier League when they host Everton at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, 11 November 2018, kick-off at 16h15 CAT.

Chelsea comes into the match having claimed a 3-1 home win over London rivals Crystal Palace this past weekend – Spanish striker Alvaro Morata continued his recent resurgence with two goals to inspire his side to an eighth win from 11 unbeaten league matches in 2018/19.

The result left the Blues second on the log, two points adrift of leaders Manchester City and ahead of third-placed Liverpool thanks to a superior goal difference.

Manager Maurizio Sarri has turned Chelsea into one of the best attacking forces in the Premier League, and they have even dealt well with the recent absence of the supposedly irreplaceable Eden Hazard.

Everton has also been impressive in recent weeks, with their 3-1 defeat of Brighton & Hove Albion this past weekend bringing a fourth win from their last five Premier League outings.

The only exception was a 2-1 defeat away to Manchester United late last month, and the Toffees’ ability to compete against the ‘big clubs’ is what manager Marco Silva will be putting to the test in London on Sunday.

Key to their hopes is Brazilian attacker Richarlison, who scored two fine goals in the win over the Seagulls. The 21-year-old has drawn comparisons with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Thierry Henry in recent weeks – those players notably upped their level for the big games, and he will need to do the same for Everton’s clash at Chelsea.
