2021/22 Premier League
Matchday 6

Stamford Bridge
London, England
Saturday, 25 September 2021
Kick-off is at 13h30 CAT

Chelsea FC will go head to head with Manchester City in a Premier League match at Stamford Bridge on September 25.

The Blues thrashed their London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 away in their previous league match which was played on September 19.

The win extended Chelsea’s unbeaten run to five matches in this competition having recorded one draw and four victories.

The Blues are also undefeated in their last three home matches in the Premier League having recorded three consecutive victories.

“We got good results playing against tough teams in the first few games,” Chelsea captain and defender Cesar Azpilicueta said after their win over Tottenham.

“But we have to be humble enough to know that we are not at our best level. This team has shown we are able to play against any team with the same mentality, always trying to control the game, to create chances, to be solid playing as a team.

“Now it’s important to keep working because the league is not won in September. We are in a good position but there is still a lot of work to go ahead of us.’

Meanwhile, City were held to a 0-0 draw by a stubborn Southampton side at home in their previous league encounter which took place on September 18.

The draw extended the Citizens’ unbeaten run to four matches in this competition having registered three wins and one draw.

City defeated Leicester City in their last game on the road in the Premier League and the victory ended a two-match winless run as the visitors.

The last meeting between Chelsea and City in a league match was on 08 May 2021.

Chelsea edged out reigning Premier League champions City 2-1 in an encounter that was played at the Etihad Stadium.
