Arsenal to get back on track against Newcastle

Arsenal will be confident of getting their Premier League campaign back on track when they host Newcastle United at Emirates Stadium on Saturday, 16 December 2017, kick-off at 17h00 CAT.

Arsenal were held to a 0-0 draw at West Ham United on Wednesday night, bringing their winless run in England’s top flight to three matches.

The teams are separated by nine positions and 15 points on the Premier League table: Arsenal is seventh on 30 points, while United are 16th on 15 points.

Arsenal and Newcastle have met in 157 matches across all competitions. The Gunners have claimed 65 wins compared to 58 for the Magpies, while 34 matches have been drawn.

The teams’ most recent meeting was a Premier League clash in January 2016 which was won 1-0 by Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium thanks to a goal from Laurent Koscielny. The Gunners have put together an 11-match unbeaten run against United which includes nine successive wins.
