CITY SIGN, MADRID BANNED FROM SIGNING PLAYERS

Manchester City have signed Anthony Caceres from Central Coast Mariners of Australia.

But the player is expected to be loaned out to Manchester City sister club Melbourne City and will not immediately turn out for the English Premier League (EPL) champions.

The 23 year old midfielder is regarded as one of the best players in the Australian ‘A’ league having made his debut in 2013 scoring three goals in 73 appearances for Mariners.

In other transfer news, Spanish giants Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have been banned from signing new players in the next two transfer windows.

The ban was imposed by football world governing body Fifa which said the two clubs were found guilty of violating its guidelines on signing minors.

Fifa said in a statement:”The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned Spanish clubs Atlético de Madrid and Real Madrid for breaches relating to the international transfer and registration of players under the age of 18. The two clubs were found to have violated several provisions concerning the international transfer and first registration of minor players as well as other relevant provisions with regard to the registration and participation of certain players in competitions.”

Fifa said the ruling does not affect the current transfer period considering that it was open before the disciplinary ruling was made. The two clubs are also free to release players. The two clubs have further been given 90 days to regularize the situation of all minor players concerned.
