Week 18 Premier League Preview

Troubled Manchester United coach Louis Van Gaal has just two matches to save his job and it does not look that easy.

After going six matches without picking a win, United will be away to Stoke City in Saturday’s English Premier League (EPL) match before hosting Chelsea on Monday night.

It is believed that Van Gaal’s future will be determined by the results of these two matches. There has been plenty of speculation regarding the Dutchman’s future with reports that former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was being tipped to take over the United job. There have even been reports that Mourinho met with the United top hierarchy to discuss a possible move.

It therefore does not make it easy for Van Gaal as he leads his side to Stoke City on Saturday afternoon. United have lost three matches on the bounce and the last time they won a match was on November 21 when they stopped Watford.

Van Gaal will however be delighted that some of his key players including Wayne Rooney, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Ashley Young are back to action after recovering from injuries.

Stoke City placed 11th on the log have had mixed results but coach Mark Hughes will look to the team’s high profile win against Manchester City in trying to bring down United.

But Monday could be the turning point for Van Gaal when his side hosts a rejuvenated Chelsea side who beat Sunderland 3-0 last weekend a few days after sending Jose Mourinho home.

Leaders Leicester City are away to Liverpool also on Saturday. Leicester are having a good season shown by their position on the log and a win over Liverpool may be far off.

Both Arsenal and Manchester City will be out to keep up with Leicester this weekend. The gunners will be away to struggling Southampton while Manchester City hosts Sunderland.
