Arsenal and Chelsea were the last two English sides to make it to the knock-out stages of the Champions league.
The two join Manchester City who made it through on Tuesday and will battle it out in the last 16 looking for honours in Europe’s top competition.
In making it to the last 16, Arsenal made history by qualifying to the next round for the 17th time in a row and will have to thank Frenchman Olivier Giroud for his hat-trick against Olympiakos on Wednesday.
Arsenal have finished runners-up in Group ‘F’ where Bayern Munich are at the top.
Chelsea had to stop Porto to finish group ‘G’ winners where they are joined by Dynamo Kiev in the knock-out stage.
It was an incredible win for Chelsea and has certainly provided great relief to under-performing Jose Mourinho.
England and Spain have the highest number of clubs who have made it to the round of 16.
The two countries have three teams each with England boasting Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea. Spanish sides Barcelona, Real Madrid and Athletico Madrid have all gone through.
The other qualifiers are PSV, Wolfsburg, Benfica, Juventus, PSG, Roma Bayern, Dynamo Kiev, FC Zenit and KAA Gent.
