Week 15 BPL preview

Arsenal VS Sunderland

After going three matches without a win, Arsenal cannot afford not to win when they host Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

But the biggest head-ache for Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger ahead of the fixture is injury to key players even as the gunners chase to keep with the leaders.

Alex Sanchez, Santi Cazorla and Laurent Koscielny are all injured and doubtful for the Saturday clash.

The injury problems for Sanchez have been almost legendary. The latest is a hip problem that is likely to be out for two weeks. Carzola could barely give his best against Norwich Union last weekend and aggravated his injury even more and will keep him out for atleast the next three months.

It will be tough replacing Carzola in the middle of the pack considering his immense contribution.

However, Wenger’s major worry should be on how the team can bounce back to winning ways after going three matches without a win. It may not be too late for the coach to start worrying about his title ambitions but another slip up at home will allow leaders Manchester City to extend their stay at the top.

Sunderland on the other hand won just their third match of the season last weekend by beating Stoke City 2-0 in a result that lifted them just off the relegation zone.

The win will be a major motivation when they travel to Emirates on Saturday afternoon.

Stoke VS Manchester City

Leaders Manchester City are away to Stoke also on Saturday hoping to maintain their stay at the top.

City were 3-1 winners against Southampton last weekend. It is a result that has left them extremely inspired going into this fixture.  Former champions Manchester United should put behind them their low scoring when they host West Ham in another fixture also on Saturday.
