Week 23 BPL Preview

Manchester United VS Southampton

Manchester United will be in a positive mood when they host Southampton in Saturday’s English Premier League match at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are inspired following a 1-0 win over Liverpool last Sunday that left them well on course for a top four finish.

The win against Liverpool is likely to turn around United’s season starting with the match against Southampton.

Apart from the win against Liverpool, United also enjoy a better record against the Saints. In ten matches between the two sides, the Red Devils have won seven times and lost just once. For victory, United will look no further than Wayne Rooney to score goals. The English international has scored a massive 98 league goals at home.

In goal, United look equally stable with David De Gea poised to make his 150th appearance on Saturday. This match will no doubt be of great interest to the Kenyan fans as Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama will be featuring for Southampton.

Wanyama is the first player from East Africa to play in the English Premier League (EPL) and his presence in a Saints jersey is likely to split the fans majority of whom support the Red Devils.

Arsenal VS Chelsea

But the match of the weekend is tomorrow’s London derby between league leaders Arsenal against Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal-VS-Chelsea

The gunners who remain on course to win the league title are tipped to win this one given their current form.

Arsenal have been motivated by the return of German midfielder Mesut Ozil who has been cleared fit to play in the match after recovering from a foot injury. The gunners missed Ozil’s creativity in a dull barren draw against Stoke City last weekend and his presence alongside Olivier Giroud should be enough to trouble the Blues backline.

Chelsea are badly in need of a win to move further away from relegation danger and beating Arsenal will be the motivation the doctor may have prescribed for them.

Despite hiring Guus Hiddink to turn around their season, it has not been smooth sailing yet for Chelsea who will look to Diego Costa for goals.

Norwhich VS Liverpool

Norwich City face off against Liverpool on Saturday. Second placed Leicester City will be hoping to put behind them their FA Cup loss when they host Stoke City also on Saturday in an attempt to keep up with league leaders Arsenal.

Leicester VS Stoke

Leicester will go top of the log if they beat Stoke and this should be enough motivation to do it.
