Week 21 BPL preview

How long will Manchester United fans have to endure their boring style of play?

Watch a fan fall asleep at the last Man United Match!

Even kit sponsors Adidas have complained of Louis Van Gaal’s tactics and both they and the fans will be keen to see a different style of play when United travel away to Newcastle United on Tuesday.

The English Premier League (EPL) resumes then after the weekend break paving way for the third round of FA Cup matches.

United barely scrapped through to the fourth round against a lower league side Sheffield United and needed Wayne Rooney to score an injury time penalty for that 1-0 win.

Going into this match, Van Gaal is facing selection crisis in midfield following injuries to key players.

German captain Bastian Schweinsteiger jarred his knee following a challenge with Chris Bashan in Saturday’s FA Cup and is not expected to be fit for the trip to St. James’s Park.

Another doubt for Tuesday’s trip is Morgan Schneiderlin who did not play on Saturday but has had a hectic schedule during the Christmas period where he featured in every United fixture which has left him fatigued.

Michael Carrick and Ashley Young may also not be available. The two sat out Saturday’s fixture.

Newcastle do not have the luxury to go down again considering their position in the relegation zone. Midfielder Jack Colback could come back from injury in this match.

Bottom of the table Aston Villa will be seeking to give manager Remi Garde his first Premier League win when his side face Crystal Palace also on Tuesday.

With 11 points separating Villa against safety, Garde is desperately in need of some moral boosting result.

Palace though without a win in three matches, remain in the top eight with 31 points on the log. Manchester host Everton on Wednesday with an eye on ascending to the top of the Premier League and keep their title ambitions alive.
