Koeman to ditch Saints

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is set to cross over to Everton after an inspiring performance with the Saints.

Various British media outlets reported that the Toffees will pay Southampton a fee of £5m as compensation for Koeman who still had one year of his contract still to go.

Everton has reportedly laid out a lucrative £6m a year deal for Koeman.

Koeman will be hoping to replicate the success he has had at St.Mary’s as he led the Saints to a top ten finish in the last two seasons he has been in charge.

Two years ago, they finished in the seventh position and last year was fighting for a Champions League place only to finish sixth. But this was still Southampton’s best finish in the Premier League.

Everton sacked Roberto Martinez at the end of last season after failing to deliver on his promise to finish in a Champions League position.

Everton finished in 11th position in the just concluded season which is his third year at the club.
