Chelsea VS West Ham

The Blues finished a disappointing 10th place last season after having won the championships in 2014.

It is the first match for new Chelsea coach Antonio Conte and he will be keen to start on a positive note.

Conte was busy in the transfer window and is expected to give new signings Michy Batshuayi and N’Golo Kante their debuts. Kurtz Zouma is not expected to start as he is still injured.

West Ham’s new signings Andre Ayew and Sofiane Feghouli are expected to start the match. West Ham narrowly failed to qualify for Champions League football last season despite a good run of results and they will be going all out to start well on Monday night.

Ahead of Monday’s fixture, the Blues enjoy a good home record against their opponents who has not beaten them in the last ten home matches. Chelsea have won seven times while the other three have ended in ties.

West Ham will look to September 2002 which is the last time they won at Stamford Bridge. Furthermore, the fact that they finished ahead of Chelsea for the first time in 20 years last season will be an added motivation.
