City remain 12 points adrift of leaders Leicester City while United are struggling for a top four finish in what has been a terrible season for the Red Devils.

Sunday’s match however remains highly interesting and will be followed keenly by supporters of both sides.

For City who are through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in their history, a home ground advantage could tilt the title in their favour.

City have been the better side in recent meetings at Etihad Stadium and coach Manuel Pellegrini will be out to get his third win in three years against United at home.

City striker Sergio Aguero has been lucky to score against United as he currently boasts of seven goals in as many matches. Add that to the fact that he has scored 11 goals at home makes him key to his side overcoming United on Sunday.

For United, a loss will almost rule them out of contention for a top four place and is one match they will be hoping all their best players are in good shape.

Leaders Leicester City will go eight points clear at the top as they host Crystal Palace on Saturday.
