Chelsea-vs-Liverpool

BPL Week 11 Match Previews

Saturday’s Stanford Bridge clash pitting Chelsea against Liverpool is the highlight of this weekend’s Barclays Premier League (BPL) match.

With ten matches gone Chelsea find themselves in an unfamiliar 15th position and Saturday’s result could as well determine the future of Coach Jose Mourinho.

Mourinho has been under pressure since the season kicked off and it is doubtful he will keep his job should Liverpool under new manager Jurgen Klopp pick all three points at the bridge.

Chelsea go into Saturday’s match on the back of a 2-1 loss to Westham which gives them 11 points in 10 matches.

Generally, Chelsea have flip-flopped since the season started and the high-light of their season remains the 2-0 win they registered against title contenders Arsenal on September 19. It is to this victory they will be looking up to to inspire them against a Liverpool side that has not done better either so far and had to send away Brendan Rodgers to stem the tide.

William Borges and Diego Costa have been quite impressive for the Blues and will be key in helping stop a determined Liverpool side. The two have scored seven goals between themselves and look keen to extend their scoring.

Liverpool boast of only three wins since the season started. With five draws to their name, they look to have perfected the art of defending but are expected to raise their game at the Bridge.

New manager Klopp is still looking for his first win of the season and winning away will be a good way to do it.

Klopp could opt to start with Belgium international Divock Origi as the lone striker. The player has not scored in three games but he has looked impressive so far and playing Chelsea provides him with the biggest stage to showcase himself.
