Man United look for victory at Turf Moor

Manchester United will chase a third successive win in the Premier League when they take on Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday, 20 January 2018, kick-off at 17h00 CAT.

United come into the game having beaten Stoke City 3-0 on Monday night, with Jose Mourinho’s team closing the gap to log leaders Manchester City to 12 points, and taking a three-point lead over Liverpool and Chelsea in third and fourth respectively.

The Red Devils will hope to tie up a deal for Alexis Sanchez and possibly hand the Chilean a debut at Turf Moor. At the time of writing, the 29-year-old is on the verge of joining United from Arsenal and possibly becoming the Premier League’s highest-paid player.

Burnley, meanwhile, have struggled for form of late, failing to win any of their last six Premier League matches. Last weekend they were beaten 1-0 at Crystal Palace, though they remain in a highly creditable seventh place on the log.

In head-to-head stats, Burnley and United have met in 79 matches across all competitions. The Red Devils have claimed 34 wins compared to 29 for the Clarets, while 16 games have been drawn.

The teams last met in a Premier League clash at Old Trafford on December 26 last year, with United coming from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 draw thanks to a brace from Jesse Lingard.
