2018 Ghana Premier League kicks off this weekend

The 2018 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season will finally get underway this weekend, with a full set of fixtures scheduled to be played on Sunday afternoon.

The new campaign should have kicked off in February but was postponed when relegated club Great Olympics served the Ghana Football Association (GFA) with a court injunction, claiming that Bechem United and Elmina Sharks had fielded ineligible players against them during the course of the 2017 season.

This has since been overturned in the courts and the GPL held its official launch on Monday, February 26.
